Westbrook-Walnut Grove Charger Cheerleading

In 2010, our varsity football cheerleading squad placed second at the Regional Cheer-off Competition, so we qualified for state. At State Cheer-off Competition we placed first out of 8 teams. We are an amazing squad of five girls and two awesome coaches!!!

For Cheer-off competition we performed a sideline cheer, a time-out cheer, and our school song.

2010 is also our first year with four cheerleading squads altogether. We have a team of five girls for varsity football sideline, junior varsity basketball sideline, varsity basketball sideline, and eight girls for our competition squad.

For the competition squad, we perform a routine at a competition in front of a panel of judges. The routine consists of: dancing, stunting, tumbling, and, of course, cheering. The routine is 2 minutes and 30 seconds long.

For sideline squads we learn cheers like the one shown below in the video, and perform them on the sidelines at games to cheer on our Charger teams!
