Pool Parties:

There were a number of pool parties held at the Tracy Aquatic Center this summer. Lifeguards working that day are required to work the pool party as well. Pool parties last two hours plus the clean-up afterwards.

Longest Hours Worked: Somedays I ended up working from 6:00am to 10:00pm. That is a 16 hour shift.

Money earned this summer: Over $3,000

Why I love it: I love to swim. I have been swimming since I could walk. Ever since I was little I have wanted to be a lifeguard, because that means that their lives depend on me. I love watching my students find joy in swimming just like I always have. Water is my life, and everyday that I come home smelling of chlorine, sunscreen, and little kids, I know that I have done my job.
