Title: Room 44, Crafts
I took this picture at the blind school in Gary, SD. One day, I remember going and looking at all the buildings and then reaching the final one, the building that this room was in. It was through two heavy wooden doors with the number 44 inscribed on one of them. I entered the room and saw the curtains blowing, caused by the broken window, and the sad-looking bed beneath it. This was so peaceful yet so sad at the same time. The light that I captured, the contrast, the story and this history that can be taken from it. I took this picture using my Minolta Maxum 5 using a red filter to achieve more contrast. I love seeing bold darks and lights in pictures, I believe it expresses a lot of feelings that artists have. This picture's values really captured my feelings and I'm so happy with the way it turned out.
