Title: Rock River Dam, Crafts
I took over 27 different pictures of the Rock River and digitally stitched them together using a computer. Much of the work was making the photomontage look seamless where each view was "stitched" to the one next to it. Much of the image (especially the water) was created by sampling other areas of the photo and cloning them into the overall composition. I had to do this because some of the photos I took of the water did not turn out. I don't think most people realize how much time is involved with creating a digital panorama such as this. I know I didn't before I started. I really enjoyed working on this picture. I never thought I would be able to do something like this. It was also fun to do something this large. Most of it I am happy with but there are a couple of areas that I could go back and rework a little. Getting to spend time doing something I love to do and getting a wonderful end product was probably the best part of this project. I am going to Ridgewater Technical College to study photography and I feel this project should give me a jump start with my studies there. I received a lot of great feedback from other teachers that saw this image and getting all of those good remarks made me feel like I can make something great if I work hard at it.
