Title: Marble Teapot, Crafts
I created a teapot with both red and white clay. I started with wedging the two clays together so that they meshed and looked as one. I had seen a picture of a marblelized project in one of the art books and elaborated on that idea. The teapot was an assignment, yet I went apart and made it my own. This is a slab teapot that I wrapped around a blown up balloon. Once the teapot was dry and almost ready for the bisque firing I scraped the outside of the pot with a exacto knife so that the blended colors of clay would give way to the sections of swirls. After the first firing I only put on clear glaze, to show off the mixed clay underneath.
