Title: Speckled Seed, Crafts
When I started thinking about what I wanted to make, I thought about past projects I had done. We had an Acoma pottery unit and I really enjoyed it, but this time I wanted to give it more of a modern feel. I started making this seed pot by coiling and pinching the clay. Then I combined the two halves and started incorporating geometric and raised pieces of clay on top of it. For my glaze, I chose to mix an amber glaze with a freckled brown glaze. I had heard this gives the pottery a type of wood look, and I thought that would work well with mixing the Native American culture with some of the more modern culture were used to today.
