| Anyone who has previously taken AARP's 55 Alive 8-hour course is eligible to take the four hour refresher course to re-certify. Please bring your drivers license and a pen to class with you. Minnesota Wild Hockey Game |
| The WWG Community Education Program will attend the Minnesota Wild Hockey Game on Saturday, April 7th vs. the Phoenix Coyotes. This is the last game of the regular season. The game starts at 7:00 p.m. Bus leaves at 11:00 am from Walnut Grove. This community education event is for adults only. Please call the Walnut Grove School to reserve your tickets at 507-859-2141. Ticket prices are $30 and $50 dollars. This includes the price for transportation. |

Minnesota Timber Wolves Game |
Dear WWG Parents and Community, The WWG Community Education Program will be attending a Minnesota Timber Wolves game on Friday, March 9th vs. the LA Lakers. The game starts at 7:00 p.m. We will leave sometime around 2:00 p.m. Tickets cost $25.00 per ticket. This price includes the bus ride up. All tickets need to be paid as soon as you can. We will stop to eat on the way up. The tickets are in the upper deck, just off center court, at the top. Firearm Safety Training |
| Mr. Doug Lee, certified instructor, will take fifteen students through the firearm safety training course work. The first night of Firearm Safety Class will start on Tuesday, March 6th. There will also be a field training day scheduled. All participants need to be registered by Friday, February 17th. This way materials should be here in time for the class. The Red Rock Sport Men's Club will pay the fees for any student who successfully takes and passes the written and field tests. WWG students may use the shuttle buses for transportation to and from class between Westbrook and Walnut Grove. Call 507-859-2141 to sign your son or daughter up. |

Cooking for Adults |
Kathy Filter and Kalia Lor will be teaching a Hmong cultural foods cooking class for adults. Their first class has been scheduled for Thursday, February 2nd, in the Walnut Grove Preschool Room, the Old Home Ec room. They will be preparing a traditional Hmong dish of Low Mein Noodles and Sesame Seed Buns. Class size is limited to ten participants. Cost is $7.00 per person. Please call the Walnut Grove School at 507-859-2141 to sign up. The class will be rescheduled if weather conditions warrant it. Bring your aprons and appetite. I can smell it now. |

Estate Planning for What Matters Most, The Rest of the Story |
| This is the most thorough course on estate planning ever presented through Community Ed by certified Law Attorney Hannon T. Ford. This two night course (2 hours each night) will cover many estate planning topics and allow plenty of time for questions and examples. Hannon will discuss Trusts, Wills, Powers of Attorneys, Deeds and Health Care Directives (Living Wills) as well as other estate planning documents and methods. This class will teach you how to plan for the future to save taxes, avoid probate, save money on lawyers fees, and avoid family fights. You will learn about issues such as gifting assets, selling asset, and protecting homes, farms, and businesses for the next generations. The focus of the class will be planning for what is most important: your loved ones. The class will also discuss inheritance from divorce, creditors, bankruptcy, and remarriage. |

Chad Wahl from Klasse Sales and Services will take you through basic steps to properly winterize your vehicle. Chad will also go over preventative tips that will extend the life of your vehicle. Four-Hour Defensive Driving Class |
| This Class is available to drivers 55 and older to increase awareness of the need for defensive driving. This course is approved by the State of Minnesota for senior citizens to receive a 10% discount on their insurance. A certificate is issued at the completion of the class by Trooper Kathy Pederson. |
