Monday:
Students are subdivided into ensemble groupings. This week in addition to learning how to play their own composition (and hopefully writing it out with Finale) students will work with their groups to prepare their ensemble for the concert. Each ensemble chooses one member's original composition. Then they create rhythm patterns and harmony ideas to accompany this piece. Each member has a part to play in the ensemble, be it drum, auxiliary percussion, Orff instrument, keyboard or guitar. Then they practice together.
Ensembles are also currently working on their new folk song choice and guitar chords needed to play their new piece.
Some students may want to play their song as a soloist at the concert as well.
Tuesday:
In summary each student will work to accomplish this week: ENSEMBLE
1. Determine with his ensemble group whose song will be featured.
2. Will the main song be played on a keyboard? on an Orff instrument? on a guitar?
3. Will the necessary chords be played on a keyboard? or a guitar? or an Orff instrument?
4. Help create rhythm parts for the featured song
5. Help choose instruments to play these patterns.
6. Help determine who will play each instrument
7. Write everything down and begin rehearsing.

Wednesday:
AS AN INDIVIDUAL:
1. Practice playing his/her own song
2. Practice new guitar chords for ensemble folk song choice
3. Transcribe composition into Finale software program and print it off.
4. Practice with own ensemble
