7-8 Life Music 2nd Q 10.11 Lesson Plans
Week: 11/29/2010 Instructor: Constance Knott Academics
Life Music Goals for Next Two Weeks:
1. All students will be able to play their own compositions for the class at a two day recital December. A major goal is to play it without breaking tempo and keeping the rhythm values steady and true while using good piano fingering
2. The majority of students will have used Finale software for their composition and we will show the piece as they play it.
3. All six ensembles will have chosen a guitar folksong that they can play together and the class will sing it.
4. As a class we will begin to learn to accompany some easy Christmas songs with guitars, keyboard (using different settings) chords, and drums. We will get ready for our Christmas party on Dec. 20. Hopefully we will be good enough to take our show on the road on Dec. 22 and perform and share a song or two!!
Monday: 10 students will practice playing their own compositions, the other 16 will play guitars, practicing chords and folksongs from sets one and set two.
we will start the day with a demonstration again how to place a person's song into the computer and then hear it played, run it off on the printer.
Wednesday: Students will divide into groups today. Mrs. Knott will help directly with getting 4 students ready to place music on Finale in the library lab, help 4 other students "play" their song with the keyboard directly into the computer in choir room. 10 students will practice their own piece on keyboards in preparation for the recital next week, and two ensembles will pracice their guitar selection.
