Monday:

Keyboard Instruction/Composing:
Many students are finishing up their compositions. There are a lot of success stories this time around. Next they will be placing them into Finale, and getting proficient at playing it themselves. The goal is to keep a very steady beat and play the piece with rhythmic accuracy.

Wednesday: Rhythms and Percussion:
The students will be creating drum and percussion patterns to accompany the five selections for the concert. We will practice them in hopes of having a few students ready to perform in the variety show next Monday, February 14th

Tuesday:
Guitar Instruction:
We have chosen 5 songs for the upcoming concert. We are gaining proficiency in playing 7 chords. All the songs are well known and we will be seeking audience participation!! HOWEVER! We are now combined with the senior high for this concert and we may not have time for this enterprise... we will see. Maybe they can be part of the variety show instead!!

Thursday:
FINALE: As much as possible this week the students will be placing their compositions into the computer and getting a very professional printout. The program also allows them to hear their piece and see it at the same time.
Friday:
Listening: If time permits we will take a side trip and listen to a contemporary pop tune and analyze it.
