Week: 11/08/2010 Instructor: Constance Knott Academics
Announcements: Students continue to work on Avon sales and hat sales. Due before Thanksgiving or right after Thanksgiving. We hope to raise 6,000 dollars.
Vocal jazz Monday, Choralaires on Wed. and Boys 50's on Thursday.
Veteran's Day program is on Thursday this week. we will be performing with the band.
Voice Skills: we continue to work on the five fundamentals of choral singing. Breath energy and resonance so far, moving into intonation (listening for in tune singing)
Reading skills: working a lot with intervals, reading new rounds and folk music. We continue to do multi-tasking with rhythms and note reading. will start reading some chorales soon.

Listening Skills: with our emphasis on intonation we do lot of listening to one another as sections, listening for differences and improvements
Music Analysis: we are in the analysis part of all our music learning at the present time. we look for patterns in the notes, rhythms, examine the text meaning, style of the music, the interpretation markings called for by the composer.
Repertoire: New this week is Sleigh Ride. We continue with Bell Carol of the Kings, and Calypso Noel, and Good News. We also will be getting out the Hallelujah Chorus.
