Monday:
Announcements:We are working like crazy to get our contest music learned. At this point in a normal year we would already be memorizing it and polishing it. We don't even have it all learned yet. The pressure is really on. We will not be afforded the luxury of having time to "live with" this music. We will go right down to the wire. AT THIS TIME WE ARE WORKING ON SCHEDULING TWO EARLY EVENING REHEARSALS NEXT WEEK.
Tuesday:
Effort and Attitude Needed:Students have to realize the seriousness and the need to really dig in and apply themselves every single day. Absolutely everyone is needed and their contributions to the group can make the choir efficient in its use of time and effective in what we can accomplish this week. EVERY SINGLE PERSON MATTERS.
Wednesday:
Work on "Festival Sanctus":we did a preliminary overview of the ending on Friday. For the week: we will seriously work the ending, work on memory, getting the parts carefully dovetailed, work phrases and dynamics and finish LEARNING NOTES!
Thursday:
Work on "Sano Duso" FINISH LEARNING NOTES! and the WORDS! The song is a Serbian folksong and while not overly difficult note wise, it is unaccompanied and we have to work the words and dynamics carefully
Friday:
Other Efforts: We need to do some recording to get the sense of where we are, then the students can hear it for themselves. That is slated for Wednesday.
