Announcements: This is a pivotal week for us. The solos and ensembles are in full swing: attending lessons and accompanists come daily to assist. The Choralaires:Monday evening rehearsal. FFA All state Choir students should get their music and CD's this week too.
Voice Skills: Fundamentals for Personal Best Singing: Using Your Whole Self. We are on part two this week. The "mouth": shape vowels, articulate consonants, space inside, relaxed jaw. We will review abdomen:(high sternum, low breaths that are managed and articulated)
Music Reading: continue key of F, sight reading, rhythms and chromatic patterns.
Four part chorales
Music Analysis/Interdisciplinary Applications: We are looking carefully at O Susanna and Thanks Be to Thee this week for analysis. Their two sided analysis paper is due this week; any day Monday through Friday. We will be looking at some our music culturally, socially, and/or stylistically, read articles, and write a position paragraph. We also need to work on the terminology again.
Repertoire: Primarily we will be working on O Susanna and Thanks Be to Thee by Handel.Both will be carefully analyzed
