Monday:
Topic: Viral replication
Lesson: Students will be learning about the difference between the lytic and lysogenic cycles of viral replication. We will finish up the chapter talking about infectious disease prevention. Before the end of class, we will pick partners and talk about the video project students will be doing to present a selected infection disease.
Standard: 9.4.1.2.3
Assignment: Finish chapter 17-18 review wkst/ Portfolio for tomorrow
Tuesday:
Topic: Review of chapter 17-18/ Infectious disease PSA
Lesson: Portfolios due. We will spend the first part of class reviewing the information over chapter 17-18. The second part of class will be spent researching a specific bacterial or viral disease for a public service announcement students will be recording.
Assignment: Study for chapter 17-18 test
Wednesday:
Topic: Bacteria and virus test/ Read chapter 37 on immune system
Lesson: Students will test over chapter 17-18. As they finish, they will begin reading and taking notes over the chapter 37 information on the immune system.
Assignment: Read pages 1084-1091 over the immune system
Thursday:
Topic: Infectious disease and the immune system
Lesson: Students will learn about disease transmission and how the immune system responds to infection through a powerpoint on chapter 37. The second part of the class will be spent working on their PSA.
Standard: 9.4.4.2.2 & 9.4.4.2.3
Assignment: Finish reading chapter 37 if not done
Friday:
Topic: Immune response
Lesson: We will continue talking about immune cells, their functions, and what happens in the case of allergic reactions and autoimmune disorders. Students will be taping their PSA.
Assignment: Chapter 37 review questions for Monday (page 1099-1101, 1-37)
