Monday:
Students will test on Ch. 18. They will then work on completing their bacteria/virus posters.
Tuesday:
The class will start with a documentary on what your body does to fight off a cold. Then we will cover infectious disease, spread of disease, and disease patterns.

Wednesday:
Today we will cover specific and nonspecific immunity. Then we will talk about aseptic technique and culture microorganisms from different areas of the tech campus. When students are done swabbing, they will work on their questions from the disease transmission simulation.

Thursday:
Today's topic is passive & active immunity, and inflammatory diseases. Students will check their petri dishes for growth from yesterday's experiment and record any growth. Then we will practice a little histology by swabbing and staining cheek cells to view under microscopes.

Friday:
Today we will review the immune system and take a short test on the immune system. Then students will analyze the growth in their petri dishes. They will count the number and types of colonies and the describe the various types of colonies.
