Week: 12/07/2009 Instructor: Constance Knott Academics
Announcements: Our number one priority is to maintain the focus and self discipline we exhibited so well before the concert. We have five rehearsals until Christmas vacation and we want to use our time well and continue to be a good group together which is striving for excellence.
Rounds, and Exercises: We will add "Man's Life's a Vapor", and "Be You Strong" and "Where is John?" We are continuing doing a lot of rhythm responses and actions.
Folksong for ostinatos: This Train
Sightreading: Keeping it simple, we still are doing stepwise patterns in quarter notes only.
Singing Skills: Vertical space, energized breath, excellent posture are the focus this week.
Music Analysis: We did an elements chart for Bye, Bye Love, a question guide for "Old Joe Clark" This week we will do another analysis chart, this time for Praise the Lord Alleluia
Repertoire: Continue Bye, Bye, Love, Old Joe Clark, add Praise the Lord Alleluia.
Work on the four part Christmas songs: Deck the Halls and Silent Night
