Voice Skills:
Continue with work on open throat and tall vowels, space inside and sending sound forward, not singing from throat but from body. Add resonance exercises and concept
Music Reading Skills:
Rhythms - working with syncopation, dictations, detection, drum playing syncopation.
Tonal and Melodic: writing patterns, song booklets, scale singing
Harmonic: Sing triads, look for home tone and chords in songs
Theory: start working with key signature reading
Music Analysis:
Analyze further "True Colors" and begin analysis of "This Little Light" Start overview of "Some Nights"

Listening Analysis:

Interdisciplinary Applications: spirituals and how they came out of slavery existence and have African influence in rhythms; Swahili language place of origin
Vocabulary:triads, resonance, signatures

Learning stage on all five pieces. Will introduce "Some Nights" this week and continue work on the boy's piece and the girls' piece.
