Choir 1st Q 06.07 Lesson Plans
Week: 10/30/2006 Instructor: Constance Knott Academics
Wow, its the end of the quarter! This will be a very busy and full week for the choir. Our activities this week will include: a listening critique of ourselves, a song analysis of a piece we are currently learning, continuing sightsinging, finishing up theory pages in portfolios, a full review of the voice skills we've practiced the last eight weeks, and small group evaluations.
On top of that we will be working on music for Veterans' Day, and continuing to get the first looks at our chosen Christmas selections.
Paperwork: listening critiques, song analysis, finish theory papers

Voice Skills: review the major tenets of study this quarter: breath energy, body stance, vowel shapes, mouth opening, inner smile, placement of sound and energizing the sound to come "up and over" the back of the head.
Music: Music for Veterans' Day, and the start we have on Christmas music. We are looking at "Hallelujah Chorus" and have an idea to invite community adults to join us in singing it at the concert! There will be more news soon!
Music Reading: Continue work with rhythms, the three keys of C major, G major, F major
