Vocal Skills: We continue our emphasis on tension free singing, singing that is continuously supported by air, to create a healthy balanced sound. We use a discovery, participatory, style to our sessions every day. At this time we are emphasizing how breath styles complements the song style, how to negotiate singing of high notes, and we experiment to get resonance. References are made to the structure of the larynx and the effects of air on the vocal cords, how the sound is produced.
Listening Skills: Recording on Tuesday, listening and evaluation on Wednesday

Theory Skills: Start the new key of D, and Bb this week for sight reading. More discussion of the structure of minor scales. We will begin our new theory papers for booklets this week.
Literature: Using a learning cycle for reference, all of our songs are ready for the interpretation section: students are to come up with suggestions for improving our singing of each selection.
