Chorus 7-8 1st Q 09.10 Lesson Plans
Week: 09/28/2009 Instructor: Constance Knott Academics
Announcements: Last week we made good progress on attentiveness and listening. We worked singing tones of the scale and singing chords boys only and girls only, we worked on breath management and posture. Goals this week: Learn second part of song, do more girls only and boys only rounds, practice music reading and rhythm combinations, introduce a new piece, and hone in on tone quality. High emphasis is placed on effort, attention, attitude during rehearsal. Students get a daily grade at every rehearsal. Misbehavior will get a warning the first time followed by an hour of detention the second. Misbehavior includes talking when one should be listening or singing, making noise, making fun of other people, and horsing around. We strive for fast paced, encouraging, and fun, but demanding rehearsals.
