Monday:
AnnouncementsRepertoire: Our upcoming concert is on November 23rd! The Charger Chorus is working hard to be ready with some good selections of music. We are going to have the girls and the boys each work up a separate selection, and the director has decided to drop the "Simple Gifts" selection. We are going to spend most of our music learning time on "Yule Be Rockin'" a medley of songs from the 1950's
Tuesday:
Music Reading: We finished the first page of rhythms and the first page of note reading. We will start the second pages of each. We are concentrating on intervals of do-re-mi-fa-sol and their relationships.
Wednesday:
Voice Skills: We continue to work on relaxation, deep breathing, proper vowel creation, alignment. We work every session on chord singing, listening, and energized sound
Thursday:
Analyzing Music: We will discuss the use of harmony in the canon, chord structure in Still, Still, rhythmic styles in the medley.
Friday:
Music in the Wider Realm: We are going to discuss the early days of rock and roll, how the songs in the medley came to be, what was popular music like in the 1950's. Also we are going to talk about German Christmas carols.
