The assignment: write a paper (1200-1700 words in scope); that details the state of an issue (the explain a concept paper); MLA formatted; evaluation criteria/checklist

Explain a concept essay--read 160-172; 10 minutes each: 164a, 165a, 165b; notes/informal due beginning of the period Thursday

Explain a concept essay--drafting; email a body paragraph to Hannan by the end of the day

Thursday:
Paraphrasing/quoting--prose pounding

Explain a concept essay--draft a new outline of the paper; due Friday beginning of the period; draft (three copies) of essay due at the beginning of the period Friday; drafting

Friday:
Peer review and revision process--read 173-177 and 180 (do review exercises if needed)
