(14), "our captor, our hero" (16), she cherished her excitement (16), getting head cut off and dying happy (21), the guy chasing them--a saint (21); the transcendent quality of "The Death of the Moth", the "marvelous as well as pathetic" moth possessing "enormous energy" but living with the backdrop of "indifferent, impersonal" death, the pencil does no good (a symbol?); read "Great-Grandfather's Crutches"; read 40-43
