Argument models--Classical (Aristotilian), Toulmin, Questions; one more: Logic--to be logical, the statement(s) is/are tested in a sequence: the basic syllogism: the classic example: all men are mortal, Socrates is a man, therefore Socrates is mortal;

dependent on the validity of premises: the following is logical but still fails: Redheads are silly, Suzi is a redhead, therefore Suzi is silly;

read OWL logic handout; produce syllogism related to subject/topic

Evaluating sources--CARDSS (credibility, accuracy, reliability, relevance, date, sources behind text, scope), STAR (sufficiency, timelines, accuracy, relevance), and CRAAP (credibility, relevance authority, accuracy, purpose): definitions; select one source, evaluate using CRAAP analysis handout
