Story tag: type starter sentence(s), continue typing for three minutes, jump to next machine. Read passages.
Note taking styles: outlining, clustering.
The elements of story: plot/conflict, point of view, character, theme, setting. Plot/Conflict: read "Contents of the Dead Man's Pockets"; note suspense/rising tension.

Wednesday:
List examples of the parts of speech (interjection, noun, pronoun, verb, adverb, conjunction, preposition, adjective). Arrange them into five line poems. Read.
Plot/Conflict: read "Contents of the Dead Man's Pockets"; note suspense/rising tension. Discuss the causes of the tension. Starting at any point, list five each of the parts of speech (except interjection.
Thursday:
Discuss "the marks of an educated person".
Plot/Concflict: "Contents of the Dead Man's Pockets"; in groups, list the major events leading to the climactic moment; list the events and significance of the denoument.
Summarize the literary terms related to Plot/Conflict.
Friday:
People poems.
Plot/Conflict: read "Through the Tunnel"; note the events: suspense/rising tension/the climactic moment/denoument.
Video: "Romeo and Juliet".
