Monday:
Elements of Music serve as framework to this class:
Rhythm, Melody, Harmony, Dynamics/Expression, Timbre/Tone Color, Texture, Form, Text, Emotion, Style. These elements will be explored in the context of the music being studied.

The following items will comprise the class: Classical Listening, American Folk songs, Pop Music Selections and artists, World Music and Music Genres, Rhythm reading, writing, playing, Note reading, writing, playing, Ensemble activities, improvising, composing, vocabulary and assessements
Tuesday:
Classical Listening: Bach and Vivaldi; use journals for listening log
Folk Song: The Fox
Pop Selection: Students' choice
World Music/Music Genre: Gospel; a choir and a soloist
Rhythms: continue working six basic rhythms and 3 meter settings
Notes: work correlation of keyboard to staff, fingering, and playing scale key of C
Ensemble Activities:creating simple 3 measure samples imitating Baroque style and Gospel style.
