Start contrasting vocal tones in these examples.
Mid term quiz on vocabulary,

Rhythm Reading and Practice Activities:
Do some more basic dictations. Add dotted patterns and one simple syncopated pattern. Add eighth note /sixteenth note patterns.

Spend time on home tones on the two staffs work for those who are not really familiar; others can go work on composing
Part of mid term will be scale writing, keyboard note naming
Continue with song booklets: sightsinging Tue, Tue
Group Singing/Improvising/Accompanying Activities:
Encourage braver group singing. Try seating them closer to one another
Guitar practice with C Major, easy F, and G7
Practice on Orff instruments playing same chords
Music Creating: Ensemble Work/Solo Work:
Rhythm patterns were started on Friday last week. Repetition and contrast, sense of phrasing, smooth beat maintained and level of difficulty will be stressed. We will spend time at the keyboards matching melody to the rhythms.
Second go round on the African Drum ensemble will happen this week, adding more complex rhythm ideas this time
