Continue our History of Jazz with emphasis on Louis Armstrong
Review Baroque music, prepare for another quiz
Begin listening to Mozart "Eine Kleine, piano concerto
Listen to Bach piece played on guitars
Listen to male opera singers: Canadian Tenors, Il Divo, Forte, Josh Groban
Rhythm Practice activities:
Continue practice with sixteenth notes, move towards some syncopations
Work on steady beat within oneself; do patterns with tone bank options
Continue working with beat vs rhythm
Note Reading Practice Activities:
Keep working on our song booklets for sight singing.
Practice playing chords on Orff instruments
Continue stressing keyboard note names with staff note names
Group Singing/Improvising/Accompanying:
Start creating accompaniment patterns for each song in the song booklets, and start adding simple guitar chords.
Need to work on C chord and easy F chord for our next jobs.
Music Creating: Solo and Ensemble work:
Our next composition will be in an ensemble setting, where each person in the group plays a role: piano, drum, percussion, Orff, guitar.
We will start on those this week.
