Home
Monday:
Spelling: This list will include words that are spelled with
"k or ck". We use the "ck" right after one short vowel. The
list is as follows: lake, rock, ask, pick, truck, black, back,
clock, kick, kite, take. Challenge words are: dock, snake.
Test will be on Friday.
Tuesday:
Math: We will be counting by 2's and by 10's. We will learn
how to identify even and odd numbers. We will be working with
story problems and creating our own.
Wednesday:
Reading: The name of the story we will read is entitled "My
Pueblo Home". The new vocabulary is: adobe, plastered, kneels, and
floor. We will be reviewing the sounds of "ea" as in heavy, and
"igh" as in sight. We will work on identifying a main idea and
supporting details. (This is a grad. standard.)
Thursday:
English: We are discussing plural nouns. We add "s" to make
many plurals, but we also make plurals by adding "es" to words
that end in ch, sh, x, or s. Some nouns change their spelling
when they become a noun such as goose---geese, man----men, and
child---children.
We will attend the Prairie Winds Day activities in Walnut Grove.
Friday:
Social Studies: We will continue our study about the Pilgrims.
We will participate in the Veteran's Day program. Delores Winters
will be speaking to us about the class' financial investment.

Science and Health: We will continue to study the body systems.
