Spelling/Phonics: We will study words that end in nd, ng, and nk.
The spelling list is as follows:
king, thank, hand, sing, and, think, bring, long, end, thing, an, men
Challenge words: grand, young
Math: We will continue to work with money. We are learning to
recognize the value of the coins and count coins using combinations such
as a half dollar, quarter, and penny or three quarters, two dimes, and
four pennies.
We will identify a $1 bill and the value of amounts of money to $2. We
will compare money.
Reading: We will read: We will read "Harlequin and the Gift of Many
Colors". The vocabulary for the story: audience, act, costume, enter,
carnival, piece, hours, square, butterfly, buttons, happiest, jewels,
none, busy, teasing, clothed. We will study character traits, infer-
ences (grad. standard), classification and the sound of long i,o, before
lt, ll, ld, nd. Examples: old, sold, wild, child, roll, mind, kind
English: We will study parts of a story and be writing a make believe
story. We will review and study that capitals should be on the names
of the days of the week, and on the names of holidays.
Science and Health: We will have a unit on dental health.

Social Studies: We will learn that our nation is made up of many
cultures. Our ancestors came from many countries. We will learn that
together we can make our country a better place by following the laws
of the land and by participating in our government.
