Spelling: dishes, dresses, bells, boxes, beaches, days, bikes, wishes,
things, names, children cups, frogs
Challenges words are: coins, classes

This lesson teaches the formation of regular plural nouns by adding -s
or -es. Remember to add -es to words that end in s, x, sh, and ch.
Math: We will review money counting skills now and then. This week
we will concentrate on telling time by hours, half hours, and by five
minutes. We will also continue to take timed math quizzes on the add-
tion and subtraction facts.
Reading: We will read Leo Lionni's story "Frederick". The vocabulary
for the story is as follows: gather, supplies, poet, granary, seasons,
and weather. We will take a test over this unit's vocabulary; introduce
the sound of "ph" in telephone and elephant; talk of inferences and
review the l-control sound.
English: We will continue to talk about capitals. We will stress that
capitals should be on the names of the months and on special words in

Handwriting: Introducing the lower-case letters of o and a in cursive.
Science: We will begin the chapter entitled "Earth Long Ago". We will
talk about fossils and how they are discovered.

Social Studies: We will be discussing how one person can make a differ-
ence in the lives of others. We will be talking about President
Lincoln, Harriet Tubman, and the underground railroad.
