Music Literacy
Small group evaluations this week on notes, and rhythms
All sight reading exercises will be canons and songs that practice what we have learned
Voice Skills/Repertoire:
Our skills we will work together with our music repertoire.
We shift to a lesson style that encourages students to make artistic decisions about the skills we are learning in context with the music.
Students will be asked for input on items such as the following:
Which words allow for resonance? How can we better unify our vowels?
What sort of rhythmic breath articulation should we use here?
How shall we best use onsets, releases on this phrase?
Are we holding the notes to their fullest value here?
How can we make this dynamically interesting?
Are we pronouncing our words with good diction here?
Is it the type of diction that is best suited for this song?
Music Analysis:
Students will be doing independent/small group work on a music analysis form.

We also will be analyzing texts of the songs we are singing for word stress, meaning, and phrasing
