Week: 12/10/2012 Instructor: Constance Knott Academics
Announcements: We finished listening to everyone's Garage Band arrangements.
Now we start the process anew.
Goals this week
1. Students will be introduced to one new drumming pattern
2. Students will be introduced to two new guitar chords
3. Students will review playing syncopated rhythms for composing
4. Students will review notes on staff correlation to notes on keyboards.
5. Students will practice the playing of their own compositions.
6. Students will review for understanding how chords are created.
Students will work as a large group today:
1. First we will play the syncopated patterns that will be used in the next composition
2. Secondly, we will use the keyboard/staff slates for note correlation practice and practicing fingering patterns. We will use a couple of student compositions to demonstrate how to be sure you are playing them on the right notes
3. Thirdly, we will review the structure of chords
4. Fourth, we will pass out paper for our next compositions.
5. Finally, the teacher will show the newest two guitar chords and the songs we will be working on
The classroom will be set up for students working on playing their own compositions
Other students will continue on their new composition, learning how to play it on drums.
Additionally they will get guitars and try out the new chords.
