Monday:
Goals this week: Continue 6/8 practice, "Paddy Works" with guitars, drums, and color percussion. Work reading bass clef in C major, learning three chords and playing in C major with autoharps and keyboards. Introduce "Ode to Joy", autoharps. Listen to another pop piece for analysis, do a little composing in 4/4 or 6/8 then try to play the piece, including chords. Students can choose to be in a ensemble to play "Paddy Works"
Tuesday:
Monday:1. Sing some rounds, introduce Ode to Joy, Roundelay for girls and Joshua for boys. 2. Practice 6/8 rhythm patterns 3. Introduce a minor and e minor chords on staff boards
4. Practice "Paddy Works on the Railway" with drums, autoharps and guitars with two chords: a minor and e minor.
Wednesday:
1. write e minor and a minor chords, write C major, F major and G major chords.
2. Practice bass clef in the key of C
3. Listen to Linkin Park pop selection and analyze how elements of music are being used.
4. Practice reading Ode to Joy.
5. Practice playing Ode to Joy and continue practice of Paddy from Monday
Thursday:
Friday:
1. Compose a small piece in 6/8 in either C major or a minor. Add chords beneath.
2. Ask for volunteers to make little ensembles for Paddy: guitarists, keyboards, drums, color percussion. Take turns.
3. If time, try their short compositions on Orff instruments or keyboards
