Life Music 7-8 2nd Q 13.14 Lesson Plans
Week: 11/04/2013 Instructor: Constance Knott Academics
Effort and Participation Goals:
We have 8 class periods until the concert, so students need to focus on what they will be doing for the concert.

Rhythm Work and Drum Skills; Orff instruments:
We need to determine who will be ready to perform their piece at the concert, which ones will go solo, and which ones would prefer to have an ensemble back them up. We aim for at least 3 soloists and 1 ensemble.
We have been working on accompaniment patterns that go well with our group guitar songs.
We will practice keeping steady beat.
Guitar Skills:
We have learned e minor, a minor, G Major, G7, C Major and F Major.
We will start perfecting the pieces we will play at our fall concert
Note Reading and Piano Skills:
Peggy will work especially with solo performers on their pieces.
The rest will need to work on learning the right hand of their compositions. Some can also play the left hand at the same time.
Most students are ready for a checkout on the piano pieces they have learned.
Composing Skills:
Many students are ready to transcribe their compositions into Finale computer application
All students need to be practicing their own compositions on the piano
There may be a student or two ready to create Garage Band arrangement
