Monday:
Compositions:
All songs were to be completed on staff paper last Friday
Chords have been added to their pieces so that they can move onto the computer program called Finale. This prints up their piece professionally.
Most students will complete placing their song into Finale this week, and it will be due on Friday
Tuesday:
Listening:
Monday boys choose one pop piece for analysis of elements
Tuesday girls choose on pop piece for analysis
Friday Mrs. Knott chooses one piece for analysis
Wednesday:
Guitars:
Students will be tested on chords this week: D, G, A7
We are starting new guitar songs.
Students who are ahead:
Students who are ahead of schedule will be taking general piano lessons, starting another song, assisting others with Finale, practicing guitar.
Thursday:
Piano:
Besides creating rhythm and melody, and then transcribing their piece onto staff paper and into Finale, the students need to learn how to play their piece. They may use guitars, mallet instruments, or piano, or singing. Peggy Klasse will be here this week to help them practice their own pieces as well as do some general piano lessons again.
Friday:
Garage Band:
This is another computer program that allows the students to create arrangements of their compositions. Mrs. Knott records their piece into the computer, then they may choose accompaniments, instruments, and rhythm patterns to enhance the song. These will not begin until next week.
