Westward movemnt and the improvements made in land and water transportation in the early 1800's.
Wednesday:
What were the changes in american manufacturing during the early 1800's? What was the factory system and the lowell experiment?
We will read in class the story Another Factory Girl and have an activity to follow it
Read pages 322-325
Thursday:

What changes took place in farming in the early 1800's. Why did cotton become so important to the southern states and how did it effect the slaves that lived on the many plantations within the south

Friday:
read 330-332
Notes will be on the American plitics of the period and how they changed after the war of 1812. What decisions did Monroe make as president and why ws the Missouri Compromise necessary during this period of history of our country.
