activity to be completed in class: Survive the Oregon Trail Indterdisciplinary Challenge
Students will be divided into groups to complete this activity. Time frame: one class period. pages 398-99
Students will travel the trail and make a jrl entry each day this week. Roll of the dice will be on Tuesday and Thursday

Wednesday:
Students are to read apges 406-411

What does the phrase 'sea to shining sea' mean
Thursday:
The California Gold Rush
Students are to read apges 412-414
How did the California gold rush get started (think back to the film)
Why didn't many forty niners become rich
How did women and people of different racial, ethnic or national groups contribute to the California gold rush
Friday:
