What was the convention, why were the delegates sent to solve the problems of the Articles of Confederation
Wednesday:
Discussion on the Virginia Plan and the Great Compromise. Why were these so important to the writing of the constitution
continue with notes from section two reading.
Thursday:
Read 234-237

Ratification of the Constitution. The positions of the Federalists and Anti federalists. Who were John Jay and George Mason. Why were they important to this period of time

Friday:
Reading and interpreting the Bill of Rights in class activity.

Purpose: To familiarize students with the Bill of Rights; to analyze the amendments from a historical perspective and to consider which are most applicable today.

Students will work as a class to read the Bill of Rights and discuss. They will do the in-Depth resources activity for this activity
