The first project--public service announcement; examples; do questions: What's the idea addressed? What's the strategy (narrative, essay, abstraction, definition, entertainment, irony, cause and effect, example)

PSA--Human Rights PSA examples: in groups view five examples; for each example, fill out questions: What's the human right addressed? What's the strategy?

Exercise--who can get a character from the room to the office in the shortest amount of time

Treatment writing/scripting--definitions; elements in a treatment: audience analysis, "plot" synopsis, purpose, appeals; types of scripts

PSA--select message; draft treatment

Shots--the grammar of video/the need for dynamics; establishing shot, long shot, medium shot, close up, extreme close up; angles; camera movement: pan, truck, dolly, pedestal, tilt; exercise: a two person dialog, design 20 seconds, shoot
