Monday:
Intro to class--materials; objectives/standards; rules; evaluation/grades/gradebook; notebook expectations: daily summary, weekly response to an activity; scope of the class activities

Video production process--preproduction: treatment writing, scripting, location, props; production/shooting: shooting and audio capture; editing: cutting, foley, voice over, character generation

Story--conflict/plot, character, setting; story treatment writing--a narrative of the story; see examples; write three one paragraph story examples in groups of two

Tuesday:
Story--see example videos covering a range of possibilities: Fortunate Son, The Furniture, It's Hot, Snap; count the shots per minute; write three one paragraph stories examples in groups of new two

Treatment writing--see notebook pages on elements, treatment example; choose a story, write a treatment as indicated in the example treatment; repeat

Wednesday:
Scripting--two column/three column definitions

Shot types--establishing, long, medium, closeup, extreme close up, truck, pan, tilt, pedestal, zoom, reaction shot, cut-in, cut away, angles, over the shoulder, pull focus; count and label the shots: search on youtube.com--short stories; review lists

Camera and tripod operation--settings: apature, shutter speed, quality, automatic settings limitations
