Week: 11/01/2004 Instructor: Debra Berg Academics
Phonics: We will identify and decode the sound of r-controlled er, ir, ur.
We will use structural cues to recognize words with s and es (changing y to i and adding es).
Spelling: We will spell words with plurals. baby, babies, bunny, bunnies, friend, friends, around, food, world, dirty
Reading: We will read "Furry Mouse" and "Two Mice."

Comprehension skill: compare and contrast

Vocabulary: scurries, bottle, wheel, bottle, cage, content, follow, raccoon, wheel, almost, another, around, food, under
Languange: Plural nouns, antonyms, identify musical elements of leterary language such as rhymes or repeated sounds. We will search for words that sound like their meanings (onomatopoeia). For example: The mouse squeaked.
Math: We will read and write number words for given numbers; we will solve a problem by making an organized list; we will compare numbers using the greater-than, less-than, and equal-to symbols.
Science: We will review chapter 2---animals can be classified by their physical characteristics and all animals develop through predictable life cycles.

Social Studies: We will continue with a unit on communities.
