Week: 12/01/2003 Instructor: Debra Berg Academics
Math: We will use a number line to determine the closest ten.
We will continue to practice "rounding off." We will identify and write numbers that are one before, one after, or between given numbers. We will recognize and extend skip=counting patterns.We identify numbers that are odd or even.
Spelling: We will study words with the ar sound as in arm, hard, barn, park, farm, start.

Phonics: We will study r-controlled sound and the endings -ed and -ing in words that end with a silent e such as ride/riding.
Reading: We will read the stories "Storykeeper" and "People, People Everywhere". We will review summarizing and context clues.

English: We will work on subject and verb agreement. We will discuss community jobs. We will also find and write rhyming words.

Handwriting: P, p and J, j
Social Studies: We will begin our unit on holidays aroundthe world emphasizing Germany and the Netherlands.

Science: We will learn about the wetlands and how they benefit our environment.
