Math: Students will find the main idea of a story problem and write number sentences to solve the probles. They will subtract amounts of money less than $1.00 with and without regrouping. Students will relate addition to subtraction by using one operation to check the other. Graphing with the lucky charms in Fruit Loops for St. Patrick's Day.
Phonics: Students will study the pattern ex and prefixes un-, dis-, re-.
Spelling: Words with un- prefix such as undo, unfair, unhappy, unlike, unlucky, untie. Also words with ex such as expert and index.
High-frequency words are front and probably.
Reading: "Tex and the Big Bad T. Rex" and "Let's Go Dinosaur Tracking" are the stories that will be read.
Comprehension skill: main idea
English: Students will study contractions and speak with proper grammar.Creative writing: a leprechaun story

Handwriting: The capital letters H, K, N, M will be introduced in cursive handwriting.
Science: Continue with the unit on sun, stars, and moon.

Social Studies: Fun activities for St. Patrick's Day such as a scavenger hunt for a pot of gold. Scholastic News magazine and map skills.
