Title: Flowers, 2D Mixed Media/Collage
This painting came from a photo of a field of flowers taken last summer. I've always been interested in nature and what if offers for ideas for future use. Using masonite, paint, and wood was a new experience for me. My teacher always encourages me to think and combine past and new experiences into a new challenge. Developing this from a relief into a relief mixed media offered new experiences and problem solving. What i learned was moving away from a two dimensional surface to utilizing a relief surface which extended the visual experience for me and the viewer. Using wood, masonite, acrylic paint, and Artificial plant foliage allowed me to solve and Use a variety of materials and experience new ways to drawing or painting can be as a competition. ( looking at it differently) i really like how it created additional depth in my composition. This mixed media was challenging and energizing and successful for my first experience.
